Do you know the gap between what a group could achieve and what actually emerges in collaboration and results? Whether you are a team member, a leader, a trainer or simply someone who stands in front of groups: over these three days you get real practice and direct feedback that transfers straight into your everyday work.

Practice over role-play

What this format does differently

You can read about facilitation in any book. It only gets difficult in the room: it goes quiet, and you don't know whether to wait or step in. A conversation drifts. A discussion takes twice as long as planned and ends without a clear outcome.

Here, doing comes first: you facilitate yourself, the others observe, and you get concrete feedback within minutes, while the experience is still fresh. Deliberately kept small, so there is room for exactly that.

Half the value comes from watching the others: seeing what works and what doesn't, and adopting the movements that fit your own style. The methods themselves are in every textbook. What a book can't offer: a protected space to try things out, peers to learn from, and two experienced trainers who give you focused feedback on how you come across.

What you'll practise

  • PreparationClarifying the real brief – including the goals nobody says out loud.
  • OpeningSetting the frame, showing presence, getting every voice into the room early.
  • SteeringShaping transitions, keeping time without pressure, sensing when a topic should be opened, deepened or let go.
  • The living momentsSilence, digressions, interruptions, emotional depth – and the quiet ones who won't speak up in a large group on their own.
  • ClosingEnding so that people leave with a clear insight rather than a vague "that was nice".

And underneath all of it: finding your own way of facilitating – in your own words, without copying anyone, not even the trainers.

02

What you'll take away

  • Reading a group and adaptingA feel for what a group and situation needs – and the ability to adjust style and method in the moment, from your own experience rather than a model.
  • Tools in practiceMethods you have actually applied and experienced yourself.
  • Concrete movesThe small gestures that make the difference: phrasing an instruction, holding a silence, handing a topic back to the group.
  • An honest look at yourselfA clear, calm picture of how you come across and where your own style already carries you.

A selection of topics that may come up

No fixed programme: at the start, participants decide together which topics get room over the three days.

  • The facilitator's roleUnderstand your own role as a facilitator.
  • Psychological safetyUnderstand why it matters – and how to create it.
  • Handling difficult situationsAddress and work through your biggest fears in practice.
  • Designing a facilitationClarity on scoping the brief, defining goals and choosing methods.
  • Body language & presenceKnow how you come across in the room as a facilitator.
  • Questions as a toolUse questions deliberately as the core tool of any facilitation.
  • Visualisation & documentationApply visualisation and documentation with confidence.

Who for?

Who it's for

A good fit if you already stand in front of groups, or are about to, and want to grow more confident at it. If you lead meetings and workshops as a leader, trainer, facilitator or in people development. And if you are willing to learn by doing and to take in direct, well-meaning feedback.

Less of a fit if you are mainly looking for theory or a ready-made script to adopt — this is about developing your own approach, not copying someone else's.

Ümit

„Techniques can be learned anywhere. Presence has to develop. I'm not interested in a polished performance, but in presence, relationship and impact in facilitation. How do you create a space where people can be, think and contribute with authenticity? I help you find your own way of facilitating: clear, connected and real.“

Samir

„For more than 20 years I have been accompanying team processes — as a leader of my own teams and as an external facilitator. When collaboration falls into a genuine, human flow, it warms my heart. For me, workshops and facilitation are a blend of applied methods, personal development and real exchange with the group.“

What participants say

„The facilitation workshop showed me that every group is different and that spontaneous situations are completely normal. Good facilitation doesn't mean sticking rigidly to the agenda, but noticing these moments and responding to them. At the same time I felt safe, valued and heard the whole time. Despite the short time, real connections were formed. I experience this again and again in workshops with Ümit and Samir — one of the main reasons I keep coming back.“

„Practising yourself while receiving sharp, immediate feedback is one thing. Watching two experienced trainers facilitate live for three full days is the other. Exactly this combination makes the workshop special. Their professionalism meets real pragmatism, liveliness and passion for the craft and the people in the room. The space they created felt safe enough that I truly went to my own edges — and what I took away didn't fade after the workshop.“
